Michele Beretta will start his 2020 season in great style, racing in the prestigious Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour. Michele has been chosen from the team Black Falcon to attend the australian challenge at the wheel of a Mercedes AMG GT3.
The opportunity for racing in the most fascinating among the Gt endurance arrived as much unexpected as welcome and Michele grabbed the opportunity without any hesitation. Michele will get behind the wheel of the Mercedes AMG GT3 with the Black Falcon colours, which is one of the most representative team in the category, and will have at his side Patrick Assenheimer and Sergey Afanasiev. Michele will undertake a new period of his young career after four years rich of great satisfactions and big achievements in the Lamborghini Junior Program, and will face this new challange at the wheel of GT cars with characteristic considerably different from the cars driven so far.
The call from a prestigious team, in the sphere of Merceds, like Black Falcon, is source of pride and Beretta will have a good chance to draw attention in a very important event. Although the chance to race in the Bathurst 12 Hour arrived only recently, Michele is well prepared and motivated.
The 2020 race season is already almost defined and will be formalized very soon, but now it’s time
to turn the attention to the memorable up and down Bathurst city track.
Few hours before the start of the 12H weekend, Michele said: “Everithing is born unexpectedly last week, when I received the call from Black Falcon. This will be a brand new experience since I’ve never driven a Mercedes and I don’t know the track. Bathurst is fascinating, in some aspect similar to Nurburgring, with the mistery of the walls that here are even closer.”
Michele is pragmatic with this race and finishes saying: “My aim is to learn gradually, without exaggeration at the beginning. Thanks to the great support of the team, I will try to adapt myself as fast as I can. Before leaving I studied the track carefully.”
The race will start on saturday 1 February at 7:45 pm (CET) and will be broadcasted in live streaming on the Intercontinental GT Challenge official website.
