The 2021 champion of the International GT Open comes back to the championship he won in 2017. This weekend Mike will face the first round of the Italian GT on the VSR Lamborghini.
From Germany directly to Italy. From Audi to R8 LMS to Lamborghini Huracàn. In a week Michele will pass from the fascinating ups and downs of the Nurburgring to the very fast oval of Pergusa, to compete in the first round of the Italian GT Endurance Championship.
Mike returns to the Italian GT after having won the absolute title in 2017, always at the wheel of a Lamborghini.
In the four rounds Michele will have the same mate and the same team of the GT World Challenge. They are, respectively, Yuki Nemoto and Vincenzo Sospiri Racing, in addition to Edoardo Liberati.
The format of the Endurance events includes a 3-hour race that will take place on Sunday and will enjoy full live streaming coverage thanks to official social media. The race will be broadcast on the Facebook page (@acisporttv), on the ACI Sport on demand channel (acisport.it), on SKY 228 and MS MotorTV.
The championship will have a good television following with special services that will be broadcast on RAI Sport, Sportitalia, RTV San Marino and GO-TV Channel.
Michele on the eve of his return to the Italian championship was concise: “I am happy to come back to the Italian Endurance, where I have many good memories. These races will help me and the team to set up the mechanisms of long races, which we will need in the GTWC Europe.
I don’t know very well the track since it has just started up again, but Sicily is a fantastic place, where I always go with pleasure. “
The program foresees the dispute of qualifying on Saturday starting at 15.15 and the race will start on Sunday 15 May at 13.00.
