lso in the penultimate round of the Italian GT Endurance Championship Michele was the protagonist of an outstanding race that allowed the VSR’s Huracàn to take a fourth place, despite the penalties accumulated for the performances in the previous two races.
In the qualifying for the third round of the Italian GT, the Lamborghini #19 driven by Michele Beretta, Yuki Nemoto and Edoardo Liberati set an excellent third time.
Despite having the speed potential to aim for the success of the two-hour endurance, Michele had to modulate his race knowing that he would have suffered a penalty of 35”, inflicted for the winning performances of the two previous rounds, Pergusa and Mugello.
The Beretta-Nemoto-Liberati crew won second place in Pergusa and clearly won on the Tuscan track. In the Vallelunga race Michele took the wheel in the second stint, succeeding Nemoto, and scored a formidable comeback, setting record times and scoring spectacular overtakes that drew attention during live TV.

The Beretta-Nemoto-Liberati crew’s very fast race pace allowed the trio of Lamborghini #19 to climb up to fourth place. Positioning that allows Michele to move to the top of the provisional classification of the Italian GT Endurance Championship.
Despite the championship lead, Mike was not satisfied with the outcome of the Vallelunga race: “I run to win, so a fourth place is not the result for which I commit myself and work hard and this is the same for the team. The Vincenzo Sospiri Racing did an excellent job and they made available a car with which, without the penalty, we could play for the victory. With the penalties we already knew, before the weekend began, that we would have to do a defensive race and this, frankly, does not amuse me”.
The final round of the Italian GT Endurance Championship will take place on the Monza circuit on October 22, but before that date Mike will be involved in two other important events of the GT World Challenge, in the United States at Sebring and in Spain, at Barcelona.
