Michele Beretta returns on Ombra Racing’s Huracan GT3 after the double US events in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America (where he got a second place at Elkhart Lake and a fourth place in Virginia Int. Raceway) for a new round of Italian GT Championship. Next weekend the series switch on the engines in Imola after the long summer break, and will do it for the second time in the season on the emilian circuit: here last April Michele Beretta, together with teammate Alex Frassineti, had conquered two second places, with the fastest lap signed by the young driver from Lecco.
Michele Beretta: “Let’s return to Imola after the opening round of the season, where our Huracan ran very well, allowing us to be very competitive. The test carried out by Alex confirmed the good feelings, and after the few points got in Mugello here we want to return to the podium. We are 33 points far from the leader, a gap that, important as it is, can be shortened in the six races that separate us from the end of the season, and of course it is crucial to do well here at Imola.”
The fifth round of the season will open on Friday, September 8th, with two free practice sessions, while the qualify will be held on Saturday from 9:35 to 10:10, followed by Race 1, scheduled at 16:35. Race 2 is set for Sunday at 13:55; both races will be 48 minutes + 1 lap longer and will be broadcast live on Raisport as well as streaming on www.acisport.com/CIGT.
