Michele Beretta faces the second round of the International GT Open at Spa as championship leader. After the win in the opening race Michele and his team mate Schandorff are ready to return to the fray with Lamborghini, to challenge very strong rivals on Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, Ferrari, Honda Porsche, McLaren and Mercedes.
The fantastic Belgian track evokes pleasant memories in Michele. Just in Spa-Francorchamps, in 2020, he won the prestigious 24 Hours race (in Silver Cup).
Michele is back at the wheel of Vincenzo Sospiri Racing team’s Lamborghini Hurracan GT3 EVO being fully aware that the hard fights experienced on the opening weekend, at Paul Ricard, will be repeated and that the way to the title is still very far.
Among the most interesting innovation to be noted in this weekend there is a slight change made by the organization to the Balance of Performance (BoP) that concerns Lamborghini, 25 kg lighter compared to the first seasonal event.
“We go at Spa with the same expectation we had before the Paul Ricard. We know that we will have to fight every round with very strong rivals, in race-1 we will also have to serve 15 seconds for the victory at Paul Ricard, but this is the regulation. Because of the balance between all the teams and the cars, it is very important not to waste any opportunity. We have everything, team and car, to play a leading role.”
With these words Michele introduces us to the Spa-Francorchamps weekend.
