The 24 Hours of Spa has confirmed to be a very tough and fascinating race in which Mike showed the value of his experience and qualities, despite the fact that the final result does not reward him. The possible category podium (Silver Class) faded away a few hours from the end due to an accident.

The highly anticipated appointment of TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa, fourth round of the GT World Challenge Europe, confirms to be the most important event in the world among those reserved to GT cars. The 24-hour weekend started with a full of emotions, the pilots paraded through the street of the Belgian town between the enthusiasm of the passionate public and the attention of the media from all over the world. After the hangover of the crowd, Michele and his team-mates, Hites, Nemoto and Basz, descended into the demanding action of the track, qualifying with the 32nd time (out of 66 starters), in 4th place in their category. In the race, the Huracàn #563 occupied the positions close to the podium, but a contact from Basz, which took place in the first hours of the race, and a back-up from Nemoto, cause damage to the Lamborghini forcing the team, VSR (Vincenzo Sospiri Racing), to a long repairing operation. So the chance of winning the podium vanished.

Michele regrets, having lost the opportunity to fight for a place on the podium in the Silver Class:
“The race was very tough, the car was demanding and in the events like this one it is not allowed to make mistakes. Unfortunately, in the early stages of the race, after about four hours, Karol (Basz) had a contact in which the front aerodynamics was damaged, compromising the top speed. When we were fighting for the podium, around the twentieth hour of the race, Yuki (Nemoto) had another accident, even more severe, and we suffered serious damage to the car. This made us lose twenty laps and relegated us out of the fight for the podium. “
Mike concludes with a thanks to the team:
“The team, VSR, did a good job so much so that, despite the high difficulty of this 24 hours, we could have aimed to a podium in the Silver class. As I said, the level of competitors is so high that we cannot afford to make the slightest mistake. “
