It’s time to get back on track for Michele Beretta after the long winter break; in this time the italian driver decided to make a huge step forward for own racing career becoming one of the selected men of Lamborghini Junior Driver Program. After many test sessions all over the Europe, Beretta is now ready for the first official event of 2016 racing season: next weekend Blancpain GT Sprint Cup Series will kick off from Misano Adriatico and Michele will be part of the field together Luca Stolz on Grasser Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3. Both italian and german drivers have already achieved a good feeling with the green GT, confirmed by the positive performance shown in Barcelona, Monza, Misano Adriatico and Paul Ricard over the last month: “Finally it’s time to race! We worked hard during the winter with Grasser Racing and Pirelli – said on the eve Michele Beretta – to prepare in the best way this season that promises to be very hard, with over 40 cars at the start in every round. With the austrian team and with my team mate Luca Stolz there is a good understanding and the tests were essential to familiarize with many new situations like rolling start and pit stop with driver change. Starting from Misano is for sure an advantage, it is a circuit I know well. I can not wait to be on track with other cars and drivers!”
The weekend on italian circuit dedicated to Marco Simoncelli’s memory will start on Friday, April 8, with the first free practice session, scheduled from 14:20 to 15:40 while the second will be in the night (20:30 to 21:50). Saturday will host the three consecutive qualifying sessions, which will see the GT3 on the track from 14:20 until 15.10; at 20.50 green lights for the first race of the championship, the Qualifying Race, which will end one hour later. On Sunday the Main Space Race will start at 14.15. Both races will be broadcast live streaming on www.blancpain-gt-series.com while the highlights will be broadcast on Tuesday April 12 on Eurosport.
