After the debut in the ADAC GT Masters last weekend, for Michele Beretta it’s time again to get back behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Huracan GT3. This time the driver from Lecco will be among the protagonists of the first round of Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup that will be on show at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza this weekend, where 54 GT3 cars are expected at the start for an event that promises to be historic. Michele Beretta will be among the bearers of Barwell Motorsport team, with the aim for him to fight for the Silver Cup title, already won in 2016; thanks to his experience on the italian GT3 car, he will be the reference for the other two drivers, Martin Kodric and Sandy Mitchell. The 3 hours race will not be easy: for this reason, Beretta and Barwell Motorsport completed a test day in Monza three weeks ago, focusing on the new Pirelli tires.
Michele Beretta: “We worked hard in the latest weeks, specially in Le Castellet and Monza to prepare the first half of the season. My target is to fight for the Silver Cup title and we have everything to get it. With Sandy and Martin we are working well. Surely there will be many opponents able to fight for the top positions, we have to start the weekend in the right way.”
For teams and drivers protagonists of the most important GT3 championship in the world, the weekend will take place on Saturday 21 April at 11.35 am with the single session of free practice while at 5 pm it will be the pre-qualifying session; Sunday morning there will be the qualify while, at 3 pm, the green flag will be show for the 3 hours race, which will be broadcast live on www.blancpain-gt-series.com.
