Mike inaugurates the Nola Motorsports Park circuit with two wins and pole position in race 1. In the second round of the GT World Challenge America, the rulers are Michele with his teammate Andrea Caldarelli and the Huracàn GT3 EVO.
The second round of the GT World Challenge America was a real triumph for Michele. For the second round of the US Challenge Mike ran alongside Andrea Caldarelli, deserving to be lined up at the wheel of one of the Lamborghini Huracàn with the best chance of success, the one of the K-Pax Racing team.
On Nola Motorsports Park Michele did not disappoint expectations, signing an amazing pole position in qualifying for race 1.
In race 1 the victory for the Beretta-Caldarelli duo was never questioned, the duo led the race from start to finish, except for the pit stop with driver change, tire replacement and refuelling.
Race 2 was more animated. The Lamborghini of the K-Pax started from sixth position on the grid, with Caldarelli at the wheel, recovered during the first part of the race, always remaining in the wake of the leaders.
Entering the track for his shift, Mike completed the job, taking the lead with just over thirty minutes to go, thanks to a good overtake on Harrison’s Acura NSR.
The weekend on the new track located in the State of Louisiana (USA), recently inaugurated, could not have ended in a better way, with a double victory and a pole position.
Regarding the new pairing, with Andrea Caldarelli and the K-Pax team, Mike was particularly satisfied.
“I have known Andrea (Caldarelli) for several years because we have both been racing with Lamborghini for a long time. He is a fast driver and I know that when he gets into the car he always pushes hard to get the best result, as I always do. The team is important and Nola has shown it at every stage. We all did our best and the result was excellent. Undoubtedly, going alongside Andrea on Lamborghini’s top car was an upgrade that I liked very much”.
At the end of this weekend to be framed Michele analyses the differences between race 1 and race 2: “Race 1 was perfect, we didn’t make any mistake, neither in driving nor in strategy, and we took advantage of pole position in the best way.
In race 2, Andrea did a great job recovering some positions and the excellent strategy of the team put me in conditions, once I got on track for my turn, to complete the job, I did the undercut and we won. In the car it was very hot and the humidity was very high and it was a bit tiring to drive in these conditions.
But we haven’t had any other problems. “
Loaded with trophies and satisfactions, Michele is already on his way to Germany, where the 24-hour challenge at the Nurburgring awaits him next weekend.
