After two prestigious 24 Hours races, Le Mans and Nürburgring, Michele Beretta will be again at the wheel of the Porsche 911 GTE at Monza for the penultimate round of the European Le Mans Series.
Michele for the home round finds again his team mates, Christian Ried and Alessio Picariello, and the staff of the Proton Competition team, with which he took the leadership in the European Le Mans Series.
Since his team-mates and Michele’s leadership is shared with their rivals of Kessel Racing (Perel and Broniszewski), at Monza will be imperative to beat the rivals’ Ferrari 488.
Michele tells about Monza:
“Monza is the home race, the circuit where I arrive directly from home, there is special atmosphere. The past years came to see me many of my friends, this year will be different, but it remains a very special race. The circuit has beautiful corners, in particular the Lesmo and the Ascari, and during the race it offers ideas of considerable interest. Here there are points where we can overtake and take advantage of the slipstreams.“
In view of the conclusion of the championship, Michele and his team mates know what they have to do:
“The Ferraris are very fast and we left some points on the road in the last two races. At Monza we will have to take advantage of every opportunity, without making any mistake because there are only two races left and it is not allowed to get wrong. Our car is certainly competitive and the team is at a high level, we can play all our chances in the best possible way”.
