Michele Beretta is going to race the second round of the 2020 European Le Mans Series as GTE class championship leader, after the amazing win conquered in the opening race at Paul Ricard (France).
After the successful debut three weeks ago, where Beretta and his team-mates Alessio Picariello e Christian Ried went on the highest step of the podium, the young italian driver is already looking forward to the second event of the season, the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium).
The Porsche 911 RSR, very well managed by Proton Competition, is the weapon with whom Michele will challenge many Ferrari 488 GTE and Aston Martin V8 Vantage race cars.
The legendary circuit located inside the Ardenne’s Forest is one of the “old style” venues and it is characterized by fast corners and demanding height differences sectors, like the famous Eau Rouge and Radillon. Beretta, who’s considered Spa one of the his preferred location, aims to continue the positive series of excellent results that began last January with the podium at the 12 Hours of Bathurst (Australia).
“We are surrounded by Ferrari and Aston Martin – said Michele – We completed a positive pre-race test at Spa, where we tried to found the best car balance, like at le Castellet. It will be a very demanding weekend due also for the highest temperature and the changeable weather, af for those aspects we need to be work and be ready. Our target is to have another weekend like the one we had in Le Castellet.”
The race, scheduled on Sunday 9th August, can be followed in live streaming on the official European Le Mans Series website.
