A weekend of ups and downs at Oschersleben for Michele Beretta in the first 2018 ADAC GT Masters event. The driver from Lecco, involved together with Team Rosberg in the german GT championship, brought one of the two Lamborghini Huracan GT3 lined up by Keke Rosberg’s team in a weekend that hasn’t been so easy and with variable weather. The free practice on Friday took place under the rain and this made it difficult to find the optimal setup for qualifying and races. In the wet, Michele proved to be very comfortable, closing the two practice sessions with an exceptional third overall time. On the dry, unfortunately, Michele and his team-mate Aaro Vainio did not manage to bring their Lamborghini Huracan over the 26th and 23rd times in the two qualifying sessions and finished Race 1 in 32nd place and Race 2 in 25th position.ù

Michele Beretta: “We knew that the first race in such a competitive series would not have been easy, both Aaro and I are newbie here, as well as Team Rosberg, despite having a long experience in motorsport. During the test carried out at Hockenheim and Most we were able to find a good and constant balance of the car, but here in Oschersleben we never found the right balance… Only in qualifying, with new tires, our Huracan was fairly balanced but we were stuck in traffic and we could not exploit our potential, although in Q2 we contained the gap to 0″7 from pole position. Oschersleben circuit is very narrow, it means that if we start far from the top positions, a recovery is almost impossible. Looking to the next meeting in the Czech Republic, we will have to analyze the data and learn how to better manage the qualify that is fundamental in this championship. The desire to do well is not lacking, and both I and Aaro can’t wait to return on track with the right wickedness to aspire to top positions.

The next appointment of the ADAC GT Masters is scheduled for the weekend of April 27-29 at the Most circuit.
